TENspec™ Application

Application of the TENspec™ Measurement Method

One-Quart Can Counting Geometry

  • Current scanning techniques only measure exposure rate and cannot quantify radium activity concentration.
  • Current laboratory techniques require shipment of sample and then four-week waiting time for ingrowth of daughter products.
  • TENspec™ desktop method provides rapid, accurate, quantifiable results.

Surface Scan Counting Geometry

  • TENspec™ scanning method measures material in bulk containers, like a side-dump truck trailer, providing a “whole load” measurement rather than a small single grab sample.
  • Drive under detectors allow for scanning of an entire load of material while the truck is on a scale and typically provides a measurement in the same amount of time it takes to complete gate screening paperwork.
  • Can also be used with TMS' Spread and Scan application
